Prithivi Dharma Samvadham

Chapter 16 of Skandha 1, titled Prithivi Dharma Samvadham, unfolds a symbolic and prophetic dialogue between Mother Earth (Prithivi Devi) and Dharma, personified as a bull.

Set at the dawn of Kali Yuga, the chapter opens with King Parikshit taking up his responsibility to protect dharma and establish order. During his travels, he witnesses a disturbing scene—Dharma, in the form of a bull, stands on only one leg, being attacked by a Sudra in the guise of a king (Kali). Mother Earth stands nearby, crying in sorrow.

The resulting conversation between Prithivi and Dharma is rich in spiritual symbolism, reflecting the decline of righteousness and the rise of ignorance, cruelty, and materialism in Kali Yuga.

✨ Key Themes:

  • The four legs of Dharma: Truth, Cleanliness, Compassion, and Austerity
  • The grief of Mother Earth due to the departure of Lord Krishna
  • The symbolic arrival of Kali Yuga
  • King Parikshit’s commitment to protect dharma

This 8-minute 17-second chanting is a profound reminder of the fragility of righteousness in dark times and the need for vigilant spiritual leadership.

📿 When dharma stands wounded and truth is scarce, may the seeker rise in courage and devotion.
